The Kenmore brand was introduced by Sears, Roebuck and Co. in 1927 as a private-label appliance line. For most of its history, Kenmore appliances were manufactured by outside suppliers including Whirlpool, GE, LG, Samsung, and Panasonic — with the Kenmore name applied to identify the Sears-exclusive product line. At its peak, Kenmore was the best-selling appliance brand in the United States. Following Sears's financial decline and bankruptcy filing in 2018, Kenmore licensing was transferred to Transformco, which continues to sell Kenmore-branded appliances through various retail channels. Kenmore appliances remain widely present in American homes and are fully serviceable through their original manufacturers' parts networks.
